Chester County Community Conversation Partnerships

Landscapes2 Wants YOU!
As a Landscapes partner, Chester County 2020 is pleased to host a link so that county residents can play an active role in commenting upon the progress of Landscapes2, the updating process of the county's well regarded comprehensive plan. Click the LANDSCAPES2 link at right to reach the draft Livable Landscapes map and web link graphics. The Chester County Planning Commission will be holding a virtual meeting forum on the map now through April and you are invited.
The Planning Commission firmly believes that an important component of this plan update is hearing from County residents and stakeholders. The Livable Landscapes map is an opportunity to weigh in on your concerns and support for planning Chester County's future.
In January, there were 3,454 visits to the website, a substantial increase over December. And now, with the posting of the revised map, even more activity is anticipated. Viewers are able to pull up layers that illustrate the considerations that were utilized in developing the map. There is also an interactive feature that allows visitors to draw on an area of the map that is of interest and to submit written comments.
This is an exciting use of technology to bring county residents into the planning process. Do take advantage of the opportunity and contribute to Chester County's future today.

Exciting Times
Now that Chester County 2020 has been in its new offices for six months, we can report complete satisfaction with the change. We've found it as easy to stay in touch as before (for how many of you really knew where we were anyway?), and have enjoyed getting to know the Kennett region a little better. but the office itself can be found at 217 West State Street, Kennett Square. New phone: 610-925-0900. Fax: 610-925-0902 and familiar email: info@CC2020.org
Community Conversations have been a major focus since we moved. An evening dedicated to the Bayard Taylor Memorial Library produced community contributions to the planning process for a new library facility. A major county-wide Conversation on Clean, Fresh Water: Connecting Costs and Challenges has arrived as the most recent addition to the printable reports on this website. A Unionville-Chadds Ford School District Conversation, One Community & Many Voices, took place on February 12 and the report is well under way. The first farm-oriented Community Conversation was an addition to the Keep Farming First program on February 21st; another report to watch for.
We have discovered opportunities to be involved with our neighbors across the hall, the Southeastern Chester County Chamber of Commerce. Their members are far more aware of CC2020 than they have been before, and that is a good outcome, too. If you find yourself in Kennett, come down State Street about halfway to the light at the bottom of the hill. The yellow brick house on the right is #217, the coffee pot is on, and we welcome drop-ins.
Stay tuned as we improve our website, but do check out the additional Community Conversation reports that have been posted at www.CC2020.org And watch for our newsletters in your Inbox.

Chester County Community Conversation Partnerships
Chester County 2020 is all about partnerships. Among the most important are those with the county's municipalities.
Community Conversations may target specific topics like transportation or affordable homes. Some of the most productive are those that engage local residents in helping contribute to the future of their communities. You may have already participated in one close to home.
We encourage every municipality to become a CC2020 partner; the process is designed to be simple and highly productive. Reports from previous Conversations are available for the asking in printable form. Give us a call at 610-925-0900 or email at info@CC2020.org for more information.
